Remember when you were a little kid and eating the cookie dough was considered the naughty thing your mom let you do just because? After all, there are raw eggs in that! And then you got older and started making your own cookies and realized you didn’t care about the raw egg risks and still ate all of the dough anyway? And then there would only be about two scoops left to actually make the cookies? For me, there’s something about having an entire bowl of cookie dough at arms length that is like kryptonite. When I was a kid I used to get so upset when my mom would make cookies while I was at school, because that meant there would be no dough left, which to me was the best part. Then one day she surprised my sister and I with little personal-sized cups of cookie dough she’d kept in the fridge just for us. Well, today is kind of like that, because today it’s all about the dough, and it’s the perfect sized portion for a single serving solo journey into chocolate chip cookie dough heaven, and not a single raw egg in sight. Can I get an “Amen?”
This recipe is so simple, there’s no baking involved, and you don’t have to share. It’s like a trifecta of perfection, and I’m so excited to share it with you. It requires only five ingredients (unless you count a pinch of salt as an ingredient, then there’s six) and all of which you probably already have lurking around in your pantry and fridge.
Like I said, five ingredients. This recipe makes enough for about four good spoonfuls. But knowing all of you cookie dough lovers out there, because I’m one myself, if you’re interested in more than that you can easily just double the recipe. No judgement here! One thing I haven’t tried yet with this is how it would taste when swirled into ice cream. Oooh, the wheels are turning…
- 3 tbsp flour
- 1 1/2 tbsp lightly melted butter
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips
- pinch of salt
Start out with a small bowl. Place the butter into the bowl and microwave for about 15 seconds or until soft. Next add both sugars, mixing well. Stir the flour into the mixture until it’s smooth and creamy. Next, add a pinch of salt, and then the chocolate chips. Voila!
