This holiday season, we’re looking at casseroles to take the edge off of spending long hours in the kitchen. Not only are they delicious, but casseroles are simple because they require just one dish and they can also be made ahead. In today’s awesome holiday tip, we turn to Southern Living to show us the easiest way ever to freeze casseroles (and also free up a casserole dish!) Want to learn how? It’s very simple. Check out the video below to see how it’s done:

Isn’t that amazing? Not only do the frozen casseroles stack neatly in the freezer, but this process requires zero dishes. Are your wheels spinning yet? We can already think of several casserole recipes we’d like to try this trick on, and because it’s the holidays,  we’ll let you in on a couple of those to get your own inspiration flowing. But first, you might be wondering whether or not you should cook your casserole first before freezing it. To that we would say that it depends, if it is a dish with sauce or liquids such as a lasagna or a pot pie, cooking it first would be just fine, because the dish would be unlikely to dry out due to reheating. Check out some great casserole recipes below!
