First of all, happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope you’re wearing green… otherwise, *PINCH!* I’m wearing a green sort of turquoise today (I honestly don’t own anything bright green..) So that sort of counts, I think, right? But hey, before anyone tries to come pinch me, what about if I offered something EDIBLE that’s green? That’s right. Today we’re featuring the tried and true recipe of fried green tomatoes.
It’s a down home southern tradition. A friend of mine introduced me to these not long after I moved to the South and boy are they yummy. With only about six main ingredients, you’ll be on your way to fried green deliciousness in no time at all. If you have a cast iron skillet, you’ll definitely want to bring it out to play here.
