Eat What You Really Crave

March 2, 2013 | By | Comments (0)

When I get a strong craving for a good eat, the first thing that comes to mind is nothing remotely close to a simple salad, 100-calorie snack pack, or dainty parfait. Set calories, fat, sodium, and weight loss guidelines aside, I bet almost every one of you would indulge in foods much similar to a plump and juicy cheeseburger, salt-lathered French fries, or rich, creamy chocolate cake.  I know that with uncontrollable cravings for sweet and salty, my undisciplined, nonchalant self gives in to those desires every time.

But for disciplined readers and eaters (I have mad respect), I bet your healthy eating habits wouldn’t dare let your crazed inner cravings slip into the slightest temptation without a compromise. That’s why the editors of Cooking Light agree and have created the book Cooking Light Crave! Now you can enjoy those stacked, stuffed, cheesy, crunchy, and chocolaty comfort foods with a whole lot less guilt and extremely satisfied taste buds.

Since we all know that seeing is believing, take a look at some of the brand new recipes from the cookbook’s 5 different chapters: Pizzas, Burgers, Sandwiches, Sides and Sweets. These recipes prove to be not only absolutely drool-worthy, but amiable to healthier nutritional needs:

oh-onion-blue-cheese-mini-burgers-x  Caramelized Onion-and-Blue Cheese Mini Burgers

Small but loaded with flavor: Caramelized onions, blue cheese, arugula, and sirloin fill your mouth with sweetness and pungency. Click here for recipe.

oh-parmesan-crusted-zucchini-fries-x  Parmesan-Crusted Zucchini Fries

These savory Parmesan-Crusted Zucchini Fries are less than 100 calories per serving, so go ahead and splurge on their cheesy, garlicky goodness. Click here for recipe.

oh-beef-and-bacon-pizza-x  Beef and Bacon Pizza

This meat-lover’s pizza is equally pleasing as a family dinner or for a casual party. For the best flavor, shred and grate the cheeses yourself. Click here for recipe.

oh-dagwood-sandwiches-x  Dagwood Sandwiches

We’ve slimmed our version of a Dagwood Sandwich down by using no-salt-added and lower-sodium deli meats and lower-fat cheeses held together with a tasty homemade spread. Click here for recipe.

oh-chocolate-cookie-ice-cream-sandwiches-x  Chocolate Cookie Ice-Cream Sandwiches

If you’ve ever bitten into an ice-cream sandwich only to feel cheated of cookie, these little rounds deliver what you’ve been missing. Click here for recipe.

Good thing there’s a whole lot more where those foods came from. Got a crazy craving? Order a copy today of Cooking Light Crave!, today!
