My husband and I live on a steep hill and there are about 40 steps to climb in order to get to our porch. Needless to say, we don't get a lot of trick-or-treaters on Halloween, but we always buy plenty of candy just in case. Each year we end up having a good bit left over that we can either eat, bring to the office, or, better yet, transform into something even more wonderful.
Last year I made a trash mix Halloween recipe with leftover candy, dried fruit, nuts, and pretzels, and we snacked on it for weeks. If we have extra candy this year, I think I'm going to make cupcakes with mini chocolate bars and top them with candy corn. I'd love to hear your ideas for using up extra Halloween candy, if you ever actually have extra candy at your house. Maybe you could steal some from your kids' bags to make some yummy treats.
