Buying gifts for wine lovers can be tricky. You can attempt to buy wine, of course, and wine books and accessories usually find their way under the tree. But for the wine lover who has (almost) everything, there's only one solution: a wineglass drying mat. It may sound boring, but for a true wine aficionado who spends hours at the kitchen sink washing wineglasses by hand it's a little piece of heaven. The silicone mats raise the glasses off the surface, allowing them to dry thoroughly without fogging and creating water spots. They literally dry the glasses without touching them, something of a fantasy for those with expensive stemware. (If only my father owned these mats while I was growing up; I had to pay for any glasses I broke!).
