Blistered, Roasted, Grilled, Sauced, and More: Asparagus at Its Best

April 27, 2016 | By | Comments (0)

The short-lived asparagus season is upon us, so there’s no better time to take advantage of this lovely green vegetable. Don’t just stick with steaming or baking for boring side dishes, there are a variety of ways to deliciously prepare asparagus.

Blistered

A light char can make a world of difference in flavor. Smoky flavor permeates this crisp-tender asparagus.

Fried

Just because vegetables are associated with health doesn’t mean you shouldn’t deep fry them. Tempura gives the fry-like asparagus an irresistible crunch.

Sauced

It seems like anything and everything green is thrown into pestos nowadays. Asparagus is no exception and works great as a dip or pasta sauce.

Roasted

Simply roasted asparagus is a delightful part of any meal, but putting an outstanding sauce atop brings it up a notch.

Wrapped

Does this even need an explanation? Bacon wrapped goodness. The end.

Grilled

Vegetables don’t always get their due credit on being a great food for grilling, but change all that by grilling up some asparagus next time you cook out.
