Is it really possible to be heart healthy, save money, and time? Yes, it really is! Anna’s advice? Plan ahead. Those who take care of their meal planning ahead of time, such as on the weekends, tend to save more money because they don’t make as many impulse buys and also don’t eat out so much over the week, which can add up in extra calories as well. Making a list also helps save time, because it keeps you from wandering up and down the grocery store aisles wondering what to make for dinner that night. Taking the time to plan ahead also eliminates the problem of having to make a repeat trip to the store in the middle of the week to grab something that was forgotten the first time. If you’re sticking to a healthier lifestyle, it pays to pack your grocery cart with heart-healthy and nutrient rich foods such as fish, whole grains, beans, nuts, berries, and vegetables.
