The first day of school is just around the corner, which means it’s time to get back in the lunch-packing groove. Instead of packing the same ole PB&J or turkey sandwich, mix it up with these 26 Must-Try Lunchbox Updates. Think: new school year, new lunches. These make-ahead recipes are kid-friendly and adult-approved, so they’re perfect for packing back-to-school lunches or spicing up your workday lunch.

Here are a few lunches I’m looking forward to packing:

This boxed lunch from Cooking Light is full of good stuff, including grilled chicken strips, potatoes, green beans, and a honey-mustard dipping sauce. Click on the above picture to get the recipe.

Aren’t these Turkey and Swiss Pinwheels gorgeous? In this recipe, the typical turkey and Swiss combination is spiced up with a homemade dilly Dijon spread made with canola mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and fresh dill.

This tuna salad will keep in the fridge for up to one week making it the perfect make-ahead meal. Mix up the tuna salad at the beginning of the week, and when you’re ready to pack it for lunch, stuff tuna salad, lettuce, and tomato into a pita pocket. Click on the picture above to get the recipe.
