Hosting a brunch can be the easiest way to entertain. Your house is picked up from the night before. Breakfast cocktails keep the cost down (Hello, Mimosa!). And, best of all, you can make pretty much everything the night before: fruit salad, pastries, and breakfast casserole recipes that sit overnight; simply bake before serving.
For a recent birthday/baptism celebration, I hosted a dozen adults for brunch and cake. I tried to pick recipes that worked well together and settled on one savory and one sweet.
I prepped these bad boys the night before. The Peaches-And-Cream recipe came together in no time thanks to store-bought bread and canned peaches, but I couldn’t believe how flavorful it was. This one turned out to be everyone’s favorite dessert!
The Mushroom, Bacon, and Swiss Strata was just as easy; the most time consuming part was sauteing the mushrooms and cooking the bacon. Luckily, I already know how to make bacon quickly for a crowd!
Basically, I’ve decided that if I’m hosting a party, from now on it’s going to be brunch. Who’s with me?
