What comes to mind when you think of the perfect brunch? Coffee, mimosas, eggs benedict… There’s a reason why these items are always featured on brunch menus. There’s nothing like a lazy Saturday or Sunday morning where your first meal starts around 11 am. Brunch is pure genius.

Brunch culture has exploded in popularity across the country, and many restaurants now offer luxurious brunch menus every weekend. Eggs benedict is a staple, but many variations exist, swapping buttermilk biscuits for the English muffins, smoked salmon for the Canadian bacon, and fresh salsas for the rich Hollandaise sauce. Why is it so popular, you ask? It’s the brunch of champions! Take all of your favorite breakfast items and pile them high on fork-and-knife sandwiches with a side of fresh greens or fruit and you’ve got a dish that Benedict Arnold (or Cumberbatch, depending on your tastes) would be proud to eat.

This weekend, skip the brunch crowds and opt for an in-home feast featuring homemade Hollandaise sauce:
