Certain foods seem to be a hit or a miss with most people. Take cilantro, for example. Some people can’t get enough of it, while others despise it. Candy corn is one of those strange, seasonal foods that you’re either pining for on Halloween or tossing every bag you get into the “giveaway” pile.
So, what exactly is candy corn? It sure as heck isn’t corn; I’ll tell you that much. According to the all-knowing free encyclopedia (Wikipedia, that is), candy corn is made from “sugar, corn syrup, confectioners wax, artificial coloring and binders,” which is code for it’s just sugar with some fun colors added. I personally don’t care for the kernel-shaped confection, but apparently a lot of you do. You love it enough that 25 million pounds of the stuff is sold annually, according to the National Confectioners Association.
