Condiment Craze: Just Mayo

I love finding a product so delicious I can’t help but rave about it. Hampton Creek’s Just Mayo is one of those rare products that instantly impressed me with its creamy texture and pure flavor. But it’s not just mayo, it’s much more than that.

Flavored condiments are in right now, and Just Mayo is a testament to this trend. The MyRecipes team tried the Original, Garlic, Chipotle, and Sriracha flavors simply slathered on a hunk of French bread. Our editors swooned and quickly went back for more. One decided to take the Garlic Just Mayo home to see if it would fare well in her favorite chicken salad recipe (it did). She snapped the photo below, causing me to have serious mis en place envy:

It’s not every day you find a mayonnaise worth talking about, but Just Mayo is all-natural and seriously delicious. More good news? It’s affordable, AND healthier than the other guys. How often do you find those two words in the same sentence? It’s also verified by the Non-GMO Project, meaning you can be confident about the integrity of its ingredients. I loved the transparency of their website, where every ingredient is listed along with the nutrition facts label.

You’ll find Just Mayo at your local Safeway, Whole Foods, Dollar Tree, ShopRite, Kroger, Target, Walmart (soon), and select Costco warehouses. Oh, and be on the lookout for the launch of eggless (!) Just Cookie Dough later this month. I, for one, will have my spoon ready.

Flavor Friday is a weekly column that explores trending flavors and off-the-wall ingredients you’ve got to try—even if just once.
