At the strike of Winter Solstice tomorrow (Friday, December 21 6:12am EST) the Mayan clock breaks. Or rolls over. Or restarts. Nasa says, “Dec. 21, 2012, won’t be the end of the world as we know, however, it will be another winter solstice.”

Nasa. What a buzz kill!

We at MyRecipes do not claim to know when or if the Earth will end. Some of us even have trouble calibrating our own ovens, for goodness sake. With that said, now’s the time to review your kitchen bucket list. Did you make homemade bread? Truss a crown roast? Fry chicken?  If not, now’s the time to get started.

What’s on your kitchen bucket list? Now get going– some of these recipes need to rise, rest, or marinate overnight, which means an early wake up call for you.
