Martie Knows… The Top Ten!

Champagne-cocktail-su-1694221-lCheers to Martie Duncan on making the top 10!

This week, the Food Network Star competitors performed in front of a live, studio audience with Guy Fieri.  Giada’s team had a game-day focus.  Bobby’s team cooked for kids.  And team Alton prepared Halloween foods.

Martie, host of Martie Knows Parties (and Halloween party expert), cooked spicy Diablo wings.  Justin fried sardine skeletons, Judson made a sweet and spicy chili, and Emily canned apple sauce in small, gift-sized jars. The team’s performance started off slow, and while their food impressed the judges, their show didn’t.

SPOILER: Everyone on team Alton was sent to the producers’ challenge, where they had to compete against each other to come back next week.  Each team member threw a dart at a map and had to create a dish inspired by the location they hit.  The challenge was another nail-biter.  Elimination came down to Martie and Judson.  The judges were split over Martie’s performance, but recognized that she could apply her home entertaining point of view to any challenge.  Judson was sent home.

And Martie is now in the top 10 finalists to be the next Food Network Star!

Keep voting for Martie and see more of her Halloween party ideas on her blog.  I love Martie’s Ghost Martini.
