This week, the Food Network Star contestants hit the runway during New York Fashion Week. Their challenge was to give fashionable makeovers to classic (if dowdy) dishes such as fish sticks and ham steaks. Martie Duncan, our favorite party thrower and host of Martie Knows Parties, reinvented tuna noodle casserole using tuna belly. She baked individual casseroles in steel rings. The casseroles were too hot to remove from the rings before serving, but Alton told her it was a “happy circumstance.” The network loved her food. Congrats to Martie on another great week!
SPOILER: Team Alton won the challenge and Justin’s inspired take on beef stroganoff was regognized as the best of the bunch. Go team Alton! Ippy and Eric were the bottom two competitors. After the producers’ challenge, Eric was sent home.
