TGIF: Diet Book Giveaway

Carb-Lovers When you hear the word "diet," what do you think of? We all have different opinions, but I'm almost certain French toast, pasta, and tacos are that last foods that come to mind. That's why when I started thumbing through Health's The CarbLovers Diet, I was shocked to see recipes for all of these!

If you have a weakness for carbs like I do, this book's for you. From healthy foods for every meal to dietician tips and expert insight, this book shows you how to take off the weight, and keep it off.

    Make your veggie your MAIN dish, such as a salad with half a chicken breast or beef tenderloin. And avoid starches at all costs!

    Eat in moderation. It is not necessary to eliminate everything you like and drive yourself crazy. But eat the unhealthy things in moderation so you wont over do it when you finally eat that piece of cake or pizza you desire.

    Portion control, portion control, portion control. Followed by exercise. I ate my usual foods–just watched how MUCH I ate–walked about a mile a day and dropped almost 5 lbs in 3 weeks. It works!

    I’ve lost 65 lbs since March; a considerable amount but done at a safe, steady pace, by simply walking whenever I get the chance (no elevators!) and lowering fat and complex carb intake each day. Eat what you want, but not ALL of it! YOU can do it too!!

    I cut my intake of sugar by half on my favorite things. Like I love mocha lattes so I order them with half the chocolate and skim milk.When I bake I use half sugar and half splenda.

    I find that eating six small meals a day keeps me from being starved and miserable. By having something every three hours, I am able to control cravings and hunger much easier. It is also much easier to control my appetite when at a party or eating out.
    Cooking Light recipes are perfect for this. I type the nutritional information into the Weight Watchers calculator and adjust my portion size to match the points for my meal.

    Just move and spend more calories than you eat. and eat light in the evening but plentyful in the morning. Doesnt much matter what you do in between, as long as you are having an active day. I do recommend running though – besides the fact it burns calories it gives you a boost of energy and puts things in order when your mind is a mess. and if you slip with your diet, just 4-5 extra laps of running and you´ll forget about it. eat well, be active all day long and for crying out loud dont sit behind the computer more than it takes to write this comment.
