Home for Easter

I am going home for the first time in three months today to celebrate Easter with my family, and I am really looking forward to spending some quality time with everyone I love.

 

This year my family has decided to prepare an Easter brunch rather than our more traditional lunch (no lamb for me this year!).  While we haven’t decided on the menu yet I am hoping to convince my Mum to make this Greek Frittata, or maybe an Arugula and Fontina Soufflé, and hopefully some cheese and dill scones!

For the meat-eaters at the table Mum will still be preparing a baked ham and probably some roasted root vegetables.  Bloody Mary’s are a must at a brunch and I’m sure the champagne will be flowing freely as well.

We usually leave the desserts up to my Stepfather’s brother to make (and boy does he make some delicious ones!) but I may just have to try to make these adorable Crispy Easter Nests – they’re just too cute to resist!

Of course the appetizer table will be topped with deviled eggs, hummus with pita chips, and some cheese and crackers for snacking. 

 

Looks like I’m in for a big weekend of eating – wish me luck!
