The Perfect Cheese Dip

If you love queso dip, you’ve got to taste Mexican Four Cheese from Pace’s new line of salsas and dips. The minced jalapeños, onions, and sweet red peppers add texture to the cheese dip, making it taste more homemade than other store-bought varieties. I’ve tried dozens of quesos, from the glowing neon stuff at minor league ballparks to the entire right side of aisle 12 at my local market, and I’ve got to say that this one is definitely worth its salt.

My wife picked up a jar last week and I saw it on the counter and not seeing the label, I thought “Egads, Velveeta in a jar.” Last night she asked what I wanted with beef tips from the grill, I said shells with any sauce….she said a cheese sauce, and I said “great” thinking creamy newburg or something. When I came to dinner and saw a half empty jar, I thought to myself…”noooo”. But I had it and it was excellent…with a little kick that I like. I love Mexican but not queso style entrees. This isnt that at all. It is a smooth, tasty sauce. I suggest that you finely chop a jalepeno and sprinke on top…maybe same with cilantro. We tried both and they did add more heat anad more taste.

I would also recommend the other salsas in this new line from Pace. They are a little more complex, with more sophisticated flavors than their traditional salsa. Delicious!

If you want to get creative and take this product beyond traditional cheese dip, try it as the base for a cheesy soup. All you have to do is heat it up, thin it out with some broth, and throw in chopped tomatoes, veggies, or cooked potatoes. It’s easy and really flavorful.
